Why do Leif and Kicks just ever visit?

Then I realized how much stuff was just straight up left compared to Animal Crossing Bells every single previous entry and I guess in hindsight I probably should have known this was a"we will finish adding outdated features to the game after" sort of thing. It's not a bad match, but boy does it pale in comparison to New Leaf occasionally. Also some of the holidays are less intriguing than their New Leaf counterparts.

Why do Leif and Kicks just ever visit? Why not fold them in to Nook's Cranny along with the Able Sisters respectively? Why does the Museum only have description plaques for art today? No Gyroids to collect? It's just a lot of little things that actually accumulate into big things.

And it is particularly true for a series that is iterative for the most part. Good features from previous games are nearly always brought to after games. The primary exceptions are gimmicks based on the console or smallish features that are neat but finally not match changing. NH ditched a great deal of series staples which really hurts if you've been a long time lover. I believe a lot of the NH fans have not played the previous games so they do not have these attributes to miss. That good for them but it feels hollow to me.

Yeah, this is kind of the way I've been looking at it recently. Much like, yes it introduced some really great new ideas in the way of outside decorating (which really much resembles the natural next step for the series) as well as the landscaping tools. The crafting system is a fairly nifty way to give players sort of buy Animal Crossing Items mini-goals. Not ideal but it is a fantastic idea.
