I'll preface this by stating that I don't think that it's a bad thing for them to bring awareness to this issue. It's important that it can not just be dismissed by taking a look from it. With that said, I do hold a certain amount of doubt towards multi-billion buck multinational corporations paying lip service to important social problems. Of course, as a capitalist business they're under no duty to do so, and yet it rings hollow when they try to stand in solidarity with the common people. Currently there are businesses out there that do things and this is the opportunity to highlight those attempts; to demonstrate that they're more than simply words.

I would normally agree in the case of paying lip service to social problems without also putting money and support to advocate for change or implementing it to the organization and their job at the very least. Having said that police brutality is not exactly something that a company like EA throwing cash at the problem does much towards fixing. At best they place money towards the attorneys and groups that struggle to see justice after the fact or lobby to have laws changed that in the current government won't. It's systemic difficulties within authorities of not reporting their own and holding them liable instead staying silent and with the authorities unions that allow it all to happen or in ways even promote it by the consequences being a slap on the wrist followed by being hired in another precinct showing them there is no consequences. Before even getting to legislation and rulings such as qualified immunity that protect abusive cops and allow them to abuse their power freely. The vast majority of that EA and most capitalist businesses are not able to do all that much about making it unjust to say they are at the best possible place to do more.

The ones at the best possible place to do more are the assumed good cops by no longer staying quiet and allowing bad cops to get away with their misuse of power or voting to get superior direction for their unions that will not enable the behavior. However, of course it's just words. Businesses will only ever do these things once public opinion has turned into one way.
