You're trying to find merchandise that have

As I mentioned above, I stay through 8 uses of Ranged Potion (my defense level never drops to its base level - Super Defence Potions are cheap regardless). I generally be able to spot a clue in RuneScape gold 3 out of 4 runs, so I usually make sure to do it before my next one to ensure that I am getting another. I usually get my killcount to about 125 within the span of one run. This gives me about 325k in profits.

You're trying to find merchandise that have a steady fluctuation, if that makes sense. A product that increases and decreases without warning. To figure out when things will fluctuate or change outside of this cycle, look for big changes like days with double xp or new quests. Make sure to sell items that most people will use to improve their skills, and do it in bulk.

When buying on the exchange, I usually go approximately 5%-10% less than the median price. You can then decide to sell it after the price has increased by 5-10% more or determine your own "wholesale" price which generally draws more attention from selling outside the g.e.

If you find that something isn't buying or selling immediately, don't be stressed. If it's unable to buy this is because you're paying below the average price, and only those who aren't concerned or in desperate need of cash will sell it for medium prices. Generally, the item will buy by the end of the day.

If it's not sold then it's likely to be an item that isn't in high demand or you've chosen an item that isn't worth the price, or the price you've set isn't enough. I don't suggest taking the price lower for more than a day or two after you've put the offer up. Remember, merchandising doesn't happen at the speed of light; it requires alot of patience.

I'd advise buying everything on the g.e. If you're working with the raw materials, like raw logs, fish, herbs, etc. Then I'd recommend selling them in the streets for an agreed price per item. If you're selling other items (basically non-skilling things) I'd suggest you sell it via the g.e. It may take a while however this is the most effective way to go and it's not easy to find someone searching for ten dragons' platelegs than 2-k Nature Runes.

When you're starting merching i'd suggest at least 10, if not more. The general rule is to not worry about losing money in the beginning. It occurs to everyone. When I first began, I lost about cheap RS gold 6m on that first day. Keep going and you'll get to know the market and the economy of runescape better. I've stopped merching in favor of skilling, and it's an efficient and time-saving method to earn money.
