The World of Warcraft development team has issued a statement that addresses the concerns raised in California's discrimination suit to Activision Blizzard. The message was shared on the MMO's official Twitter account as well as on the game's official website that was signed by "The World of Warcraft team."
The message recognizes the pain of women who were allegedly harassed or discriminated against. The message states that the studio will take time and take action to allow World of Warcraft to get into a better situation. The message adds that "we also want to do something immediately in Azeroth to get rid of references that are not appropriate for our world."
Although it's not explicitly said what specific references will be eliminated from the two World of Warcraft Classic it is possible that the company will take down references to former director Alex Afrasiabi, who was identified in the lawsuit. Afrasiabi - who resigned from the company at buy WoTLK Gold the end of summer 2020 -- was reported to regularly assault women within the company, and would try to kiss them, and even throw his arms around necks of female employees.
